The Pro Boxing League® (PBL) is a professional boxing league that aims to elevate the sport and increase its global presence. The league focuses on grassroots development to provide Indian fighters with international exposure and create professional champions from India.
The Indian Pro Boxing League will be organized by the Indian Professional Boxing Association (IPBA) in collaboration with major boxing organizations (WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBF) along with sponsors and global stakeholders.
The league is designed to initially start with 6 teams. Additional 4 teams targeted to be rolled out over a period of 10 seasons. Every team has six fighters (four males and two females) and six backups. These fighters belong to six different weight categories.
PBL aims to bring professionalism to the sport and benefit stakeholders and players who serve as role models for the youth.
It is conceptualized to:
– Develop Indian boxing talent through structured tournaments – Nurture elite talent and create world champions – Create commercially viable boxing events
